Understand what At-Bay instant quotes do and don't cover. Learn about limits, red flags, and manual underwriting gaps.
At-Bay's instant quote system can generate cyber quotes in seconds for eligible businesses, but several critical gaps remain that require manual underwriting or broker intervention. The instant quote system has hard boundaries: businesses with over $100 million in revenue or requiring limits above $3 million cannot receive automated quotes and must go through referral underwriting. Additionally, instant quotes cannot address security scan red flags—if At-Bay's external scanning detects critical vulnerabilities during quote generation, the quote may be issued but binding remains contingent on remediation of those red flags. Complex risk scenarios (specialized industries, non-standard coverage requests, policies with multiple riders) typically fall outside the instant-quote capability and require underwriter review. Email security questions (DMARC, SPF, DKIM implementation) and detailed incident response plan validation often still require manual review even when a quote is automatically generated. This means brokers still need to prepare evidence documentation for final underwriting approval, and the 'instant' quote does not equal instant binding.
Broker checks At-Bay eligibility (revenue, limits), submits to broker platform, At-Bay may auto-generate quote or flag for manual review, broker receives quote and communicates to client, broker gathers evidence for final underwriting.
Unclear exactly what triggers manual vs. instant quote; red flag remediation requirements not always communicated upfront; broker unclear on what evidence gaps might exist even after quote is issued.
Pre-quote eligibility check showing whether account will auto-quote, detailed list of red flag remediation options, and evidence-gap analysis before final underwriting submission.
